Planning a trip means sharing a few details with us. This policy explains what we collect when you visit our website, sign up for our newsletter or send us a trip request, how we use it and the choices you have.
Allegheny Worldwide (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent travel agency powered by Fora Travel, based in northwestern Pennsylvania. This policy covers our website, our emails and the trip planning we do for you.

What we collect
We collect what we need to plan your trips and keep in touch, and no more.
- When you sign up for our newsletter: your email address.
- When you send a trip request: the details you choose to share, such as your name, email, phone number, birthday, home city, how you’d like us to contact you, where you’d like to go, your dates, your budget and who’s traveling. Our request form runs on Fora Travel’s secure website.
- When we plan and book your trip: what each booking needs, such as travelers’ names as they appear on their passports, dates of birth, contact details, passport and loyalty program numbers, and preferences like room type, dietary needs or accessibility needs you choose to tell us about.
- When you contact us: whatever you include in an email, text or social media message.
- When you browse our site: technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and the site that referred you, collected automatically by our website host (see Cookies and site statistics).
How we use it
- To reply to your trip request and to plan, book and look after your trips.
- To pass your bookings, requests and preferences to the travel companies providing your trip.
- To contact you the way you prefer: by call, text, WhatsApp or email.
- To send our newsletter, if you’ve signed up for it.
- To improve our website, using site statistics.
- To keep the records that tax, accounting and travel industry rules require, and to protect against fraud.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use it for targeted advertising.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only when it’s needed to plan and book your travel or to run our business:
- Fora Travel. We’re powered by Fora Travel, Inc., and every booking we make goes through Fora. Your trip requests and bookings are kept in Fora’s systems, and Fora handles parts of the booking and payment process. Fora’s privacy policy for travelers explains how it handles your information.
- Travel companies. Hotels, cruise lines, tour operators, transfer and rental car companies, travel insurance providers and others who provide your trip receive the details they need to deliver it, under their own privacy policies. Some must share passenger details with government authorities, for example for border and security checks.
- Service providers. Companies that help us run our business, such as our website host (WordPress.com), our newsletter service (Mailchimp) and our email and document tools, may use your information only to provide their services to us.
- When the law requires it, or when it’s needed to protect the rights, property or safety of our clients, our business or others.
- If our business changes hands, your information would pass to the new owner, who would have to honor this policy.
Cookies and site statistics
Our website runs on WordPress.com, which is operated by Automattic. WordPress.com uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, keep it secure and count visits. It gives us statistics such as which pages are read and which sites send visitors our way. These help us improve the site and don’t tell us who you are.
Automattic’s privacy policy and cookie policy explain how it handles this information. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though some features may not. Our site doesn’t respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals, since there’s no common standard for them. If we add other analytics tools, we’ll update this policy first.
Links to Fora Travel, social networks and other websites take you to services with their own privacy policies.
Our newsletter
We add you to our newsletter only if you sign up or ask us to. Sending a trip request doesn’t sign you up.
When you sign up, your email address passes through WordPress.com to Mailchimp, the service we use to send our emails. Mailchimp, an Intuit company, keeps it on our behalf and tells us whether our emails are opened and which links are clicked, so we can make them more useful. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can leave anytime. Intuit’s privacy statement explains how Mailchimp handles your information.
How long we keep it
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. Mailchimp keeps a record that you unsubscribed, so you aren’t added again by mistake.
- Trip requests and bookings: for as long as we need them to plan, book and support your trips, and afterward for as long as tax, accounting, legal or travel company rules require.
When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.
Keeping it safe
We use reputable, secure services and limit who can see your information. No way of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so please don’t send passport or card numbers by email, text or social media message. When a booking needs them, we’ll give you a secure way to share them.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe from our newsletter anytime, using the link in any email.
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete it. We may need to keep some records, such as booking and payment records, when the law or a travel company requires it, and we’ll tell you if that’s the case.
We’ll confirm a request comes from you before acting on it. Some states give their residents specific privacy rights; we’ll honor these requests wherever you live. For information Fora Travel holds, you can also use the contact details in Fora’s privacy policy for travelers.
Children’s privacy
Our website isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information through it. When you plan a family trip, you may share details about your children, such as their names and ages, and we use them only to plan and book that trip.
Changes to this policy
When our practices change, we’ll update this policy and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll point it out on this page.
